HOUSE E., St. Pankraz – Ulten (BZ)

The residential building E. is located on the edge of a housing development in St. Pankraz. Like the neighboring treehouse, this building is also a solid timber structure. The entire building was constructed using local solid timber, without the use of any glued laminated timber elements. Ecological and natural materials have also been used in the interior: the exposed timber structure, solid timber furniture and clay plaster define the look. Large south-facing windows create light-filled rooms, whose comfort is due to an energy-efficient envelope, well-designed shading and a simple, compact design. Particular attention was paid to integrating the building into the landscape. The existing site was altered only minimally and the slope of the land was utilised.
