This solution, which is particularly difficult in terms of overcoming the side effects of interstitial condensation and the complex solution of thermal bridges, was made possible and optimised by the use of hygroscopic materials for internal thermal insulation and thanks to a careful analysis of the most complex structural junctions using specific calculation software.”

The renovation of Villa C, a cherished family property with a history spanning nearly 140 years, adhered to two key principles. Firstly, a focus on achieving remarkable energy efficiency, and secondly, a commitment to preserving its historical significance in compliance with monument protection guidelines. Nestled on the eastern shores of Lake Como, the villa boasts numerous architectural features emblematic of early 20th-century structures. The clients’ aspiration was twofold: to transform the building into a modern, comfortable living space through a comprehensive upgrade of its envelope and engineering systems, while concurrently safeguarding and restoring its architectural heritage.
