The residential building, dating back to 1940, underwent an extensive energy-efficient renovation and interior redesign. The renovation primarily involved adding external thermal insulation, insulating the roof, and replacing the windows. The building’s external appearance remains unchanged. However, subtle alterations to openings and the introduction of skylights create an entirely new spatial experience inside. In particular, the upstairs apartment benefits from increased spaciousness and openness, with a large living area spanning the entire west side of the building.

This residence serves as a vacation home. Originally, for cost-effectiveness, “raw” materials like uncoated OSB panels were used for the roof slopes, giving the interior an additional charming character through this distinctive choice of materials.
